Methionine
Methionine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that is the first amino acid in each newly synthesized polypeptide. Methionine is generally the first limiting amino acid in poultry diets based on corn and soybean meal, and chickens cannot produce it biologically, so they must obtain it through their diets. It plays a variety of vital functions within the body and is essential for the health and productivity of poultry.
